Last weekend in celebration of Chinese New Year we went skiing in South Lake Tahoe. We were lucky as the weather was gorgeous, and so we took every advantage of it. Because we came there in the middle of the week, there were not that many people, so it was easier to get to places and get great views. We also discovered Womack's Barbeque and absolutely loved the food. Who could resist barbeque plate of chicken ribs and brisket with beer and a mug of mulled wine. Their sweet potato pie lived up to its reputation, as did the waiting staff. I loved their cowboy hats!
On the second day of our visit we took gondola to the top of Heavenly and admired the views.
Since neither one of us felt like skiing that day, we opted for what was marked on out tickets as "children entertainment" - tubing. I guess, we are either young at heart or children ourselves. This was so much fun that we spent a good part of an hour just going up and down the hill.
The next day we drove to Camp Richardson and went cross country skiing. Our luck did not leave us. The weather continued to be great. Camp Richardson is a great loation and has many beautiful trails. You can also bring your dogs along. We have seen many handsome canines and regretted not bringing ours.
